28 Days Old (4 Weeks!)

Tiny Little Finger In Blue Sweater
It's amazing how much babies change in the first few weeks. James is already up to 10 pounds and has developed a very large bald spot on the front of his head. He still mostly sleeps, but there are brief periods of awake where he is looking around a little.

I find it difficult to image splitting time between two children, but I'm sure you figure out a way to make it work. We went out for a nice stroll around the neighborhood - the Williams household now has a double stroller (bassonet + upright) as well as an agressive single stoller. All three kids had a good time on their walk.

And a bit of video. James and Marcus are almost two years apart. Can you spot the differences?

Thanks again for the visit!

15 Days Old - Our First Visit with James

We wanted to come over sooner, but our daughter was sick and it's not very nice to bring a sick kid over to another house where there is a new Baby. James Philip Vincent Williams was born on Sunday Feb. 13th. Marcus couldn't be happier!

Coolest Big BrotherLittle Smile Marcus

Marcus was running around and kind of scared us with how much further we need to go with child proofing our own home. James on the other hand was a surprise - mostly asleep and so light! It's amazing how light a newborn baby is compared to 10 month old.

A little bit of sunlight and James woke up for a little bit of a visit. He's still in the mostly sleep stage so there wasn't a lot of awake and interacting.

Time to update the family portraits! Mom is doing really well after having the baby and Marcus is reacting well to a younger sibling.

I was really impressed with how well Jeff and Diana could conceal there exhaustion. Just the idea of a second baby makes me want to take a nap.

The Williams Family

Thanks for the visit! Welcome to the family James!

Classic Italian car race comes to California

Fans of classic cars and rally enthusiasts take note: "the most beautiful road race in the world" is coming to California. The Mille Miglia, the Italian car race that elevated driving to an art, will makes its American debut in California from October 25-29 in advance of the Santa Barbara Concours d'Elegance. In the spirit of the legendary Italian race, which followed scenic routes that circled from Brescia to Ferrara and Rome to Florence, Mille Miglia North America will begin and end in Santa Barbara, in between making a 1,000-mile loop along California's coastline. Cities and sites along the route include San Luis Obispo, Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey, San Francisco, and Napa.

All cars racing in the Mille Miglia North America will date from 1927 to 1957, the time period during which the original race was run. Cars expected to participate include vintage models of Aston Martins, Alfa Romeos, Fiats, a 1952 Jaguar XK120, a 1957 Thunderbird, and more. The public can get a glimpse of the classic cars at car shows in Santa Barbara before and after the race. And, of course, there will be spectator spots along the route when the race is underway. Stay tuned to the Mille Miglia website [www.millemiglianorthamerica.com] for more information on spectator locations as they become available.

.NET Gadgeteer's sample camera built by Nicholas Villar

DIY gadgets' makers have a new solution for quick and easy building of custom devices in the form of the .NET Gadgeteer platform. Utilizing .NET Micro Framework and C# programming language, .NET Gadgeteer is an open-source toolkit combined of a basic ARM CPU-equipped mainboard and a choice of easily attachable modules, including displays, buttons, camera, Ethernet, USB ports, or WiFi. The idea resembles the Arduino platform or EZ-Builder kit for DIY robotics projects like DJ Sures' WALL-E... Continue Reading .NET Gadgeteer - Microsoft’s open-source toolkit for building gadgets
